Types of QR Codes

What Is a Micro QR Code?

Micro QR is a genuinely different, smaller specification with only one finder pattern instead of three, capable of holding up to about 35 numeric characters — used for tiny industrial labels where space is extremely tight, not what most people searching for a "small QR code" actually need.

It's a common mix-up: wanting to print a standard QR code at a small physical size is a completely different thing from needing a true Micro QR code, which is a distinct format most everyday scanners and generators (including this one) don't produce or expect.

If the goal is just a compact QR code on a product label or sticker, a regular QR code shrunk down (with a short URL and sufficient contrast) almost always works better and scans more reliably than trying to source a genuine Micro QR — which exists for niche industrial cases, not general small-format printing.
